This project tasked us with illustrating a recipe that involved a weaving technique—without using any words. I chose to depict the process of making a classic lattice pie, drawing inspiration from the whimsical and nostalgic visual style of the Cooking Mama video game series. The main challenge was communicating each step of the baking process purely through imagery, ensuring clarity, sequence, and visual engagement without the help of written instructions. Using expressive characters, playful gestures, and a clear visual rhythm, I crafted a step-by-step guide that feels both intuitive and fun to follow. The final piece functions as both a recipe and a visual narrative—designed to evoke the charm of gamified cooking while teaching a real technique through illustration alone.
